NOTE: Green highlighter is done on the items that were moved between visits.

The primary research areas in the urban location are these, although the research intends to branch out to some other periphery locales over time.

Area #1= the ditch, grassy right-of-way with trail entry opening and the cedar tree break.
Area #2= pipeline right-of-way / P-ROW. Using the bike/hike trail is just the way to get to the P-ROW. This area includes the east side trail entry with large limbs signature stack and the nearby 3 tree breaks location. This is 2 miles east of area #1.

August 17, 2014

I came to the park this morning at approximately 4:30 am.
The gates to the park were locked.  The soccer fields adjacent to the forest area of the park had the lights dimmed. I didn't notice the soccer fields having a locked gate. I parked my vehicle nearby and proceeded down the biking/hiking trail and began walking east on the trail. I was carrying with me the 2 food gifting buckets and 2 small backpacks of gifts. My plan was to take the items and leave them near the old fire pit in the brush. In the afternoon, I would pick up and take on over to area #1 when there was light outside.

There was a half moon as I hiked along the trail, with the overhanging trees, it was very dark. I did not bring a flashlight. I did bring a tree knocking bat. I proceeded onto the grassy area under partial moonlight. I made my way to the old fire pit location and put the buckets and packs approximately 10 to 15 feet into the east tree. I would be back that afternoon to get them and walk to the setups location.

I then walked further to the south, near the first tree down by the ditch on the east side. I had the tree knocking bat with me and proceeded to do some knocks in groups of 3, a few whoops and whistles. Also, any time I enter close to a trail entry opening area, I whistle a hymnal tune as a signature of my arrival to the location and I also do this upon leaving the location. This is to allow one to escape if they wish with warning.

Since it was dark and my first time there in the dark, I did not go past the tree line into the woods. I stayed on the grassy area near the first tree near the ditch on the east side. I stayed approximately 20 minutes and then left the area. I really wanted to get an immediate response to my knocks, whoops and whistles, but I got none.

I headed back to my vehicle and returned down the trail that was partly lit by the half moonlight.  Again, I came to the dark area of the trail. It was rather spooky, but I pressed through the dark part of the trail. Instead of going straight back to my vehicle, I walked over the day use parking area. This is where I would park when the gates were open. There was a wooden barricade close to my usual parking spot. I did 3 knocks on the wood barricade. After a few minutes, it sounded like a single response came from further west in the park. I thought perhaps this was something....

I turned and walked back to the road and trail crossover. At this point, in the ground,up approximately 3 feet, was a round metal post. I hit that once. It was very loud. I waited for a response. Again, I heard what sounded like a single response way off to the west. Was it in the park or outside of it? I thought about it a few minutes and then walked back to my vehicle which was close by and then headed home. This was approximately 5:30 a.m. I was home by 6 a.m.

After this, I considered possibly in the future arriving at 4 a.m. and staying to sun-up. I wanted to visit the grassy area over near the trail entry opening at area #1. I would bring a chair, sit down an attempt to get vocal, knock and movement confirmations. I would also like to do more area exploration around the site and greater area trails, etc, without going into woods along the trails. I would likely start this after it cools down some.

I planned to have someone local who was interested in research join me in this investigation. I found just the right person, RM. He was a novice, intrigued by the possibility of Sasquatch existing. He was 48, hunted on his family property, and knew wildlife well. Today would be the first time I take him to the site. We decided to partially pick up trash from the immediate setups site. He will haul the trash with me today and he will help me put food in the gifting buckets.

I arrived in the parking lot that afternoon around 4 p.m.  RM arrived at 4:30.  We geared up to hike the area. On the way, I showed him different items to be aware of in the woods that Sasquatch are noted to do.

We stopped at the fire pit area to pick up the 2 buckets and back packs.  I showed him what was happening in the grassy area and the items inside the tree line and junk/trash pockets. I also showed him the ongoing experiments. RM was impressed with the experiments. I told him to share any input to help in the experiment. I know something, but not everything. This is another reason why having another person present is good, he could see other aspects I hadn't thought of.

RM saw some of the results of what was going on. We both observed these changes:

1.  Food wrappers left on the ground around the big tree in area #1.

2.  The limbs on the grassy area that looked to be laid out in a particular way.

3.  Apples at the bottom of the tree eaten and the cores left behind.

4.  The bananas were left as-is, not eaten, on top of the leaning log/limb.  No more bananas were brought.

5.  Limbs/sticks ground communication formations??

We headed back to our vehicles around 7:30 p.m.

RM will help in the future as much as he can. I appreciate the help and I enjoy having someone to witness and share the experiences with. It helps to bring in new views and concepts when dealing with Sasquatch, as the field is wide open to understanding their behaviors better.  This dynamic is just what I needed to breathe life into the documentation and interactions.
